Induction Brazing-Welding
Induction brazing welding heats the joint zone with high-frequency induction to melt filler materials. It is precise and suitable for series production applications.
Physicochemical working principle
Induction brazing welding uses electromagnetic induction to heat the metal in the joint zone. A high-frequency current generates a magnetic field that is coupled to the metal part and heats it. This enables precise control of heat transfer.
Metallurgical relevance & risks in welding
The precision of induction allows the joint zone to be heated and controlled accurately. This reduces the risk of porosity and increases the strength of the weld. However, a faulty frequency or timer can cause the metal to overheat and become deformed or damaged.
Workshop practice & action instructions
Use an induction welding machine with the correct frequency (typically 20 kHz to 50 kHz) and suitable heating time. Ensure that the metal part is well positioned in the induction field to ensure uniform heat transfer. Monitor temperature and time closely to avoid porosity and deformation.
