Cold Pressure Welding
A solid-state welding process joining clean contact surfaces solely through high compressive force and plastic deformation without heat application.
Cold welding means: you press two clean metal surfaces together so firmly that the atoms bond directly – without any heat. But the material must be really clean and grease-free, otherwise nothing holds. The big advantage is that no pores or structural changes form because nothing melts. If you apply too much pressure, you only deform the workpiece; with too little pressure, the parts separate again. So it's all about the right feel and uniform surface pressure.
