Ceramic die
The ceramic mold presses or extrudes ceramic masses into bricks, tiles, or technical components. The abrasive mass grinds away the mold surface – wear resistance is everything.
What a ceramic mold is
The ceramic mold presses or extrudes ceramic masses into bricks, tiles, sanitary ceramics, or technical components. The mass is both moist-sticky and highly abrasive.
The load
As with the stone mold, it is pure abrasion, and in addition, the moist mass has a corrosive effect on the mold surface. The mold is worn most heavily at edges and nozzles.
The material
Ceramic molds require wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant steels, often combined with hard coatings or hard metal inserts at critical points.
