Iron Soldering Heat Transfer
Targeted thermal energy input via a heated soldering iron tip for melting soft solders in electrical engineering and precision mechanics.
When soldering with an iron, you apply heat directly to the solder and the component via the tip. If the iron is too cold or you don't stay long enough, the solder won't melt properly and you won't get a clean joint. If it's too hot or you hold it on too long, the material can start to flow or the component can be damaged. So you need to get a feel for the right temperature and time – then the solder flows cleanly and forms a smooth, shiny joint.
