Condensation Water Climate Test

Laboratory procedure for evaluating the behavior of coated materials under constant or alternating moisture exposure without salt loading. Blistering and underfilm corrosion are assessed during this process.

The condensation test checks whether a coating withstands humid climate. For this, you place the sample in a closed chamber where moisture condenses on the surface. If the layer is not tight or adheres poorly, bubbles form or moisture migrates under the coating. You can see this with the naked eye after the test. If the layer is undermined or blistered, it's no good for outdoor use.
