Corrosion Protection Catalyst
A substance that accelerates chemical reactions for forming compact, sparingly soluble surface layers on metals, supporting the kinetics of natural or artificial passivation.
A corrosion protection catalyst accelerates the formation of a stable protective layer on the metal that prevents contact with air and moisture. As a result, the component rusts much slower and its service life increases. When welding, you have to be careful: the catalyst must not get into the weld or react with unsuitable base materials, otherwise you'll get porosity or a crappy weld. Before welding, thoroughly grind off the treated area in the weld zone, and apply the catalyst only to the finished, clean surface. Quickly check compatibility with the material and environment beforehand, then the protection will last.
