Force-Torque Sensors

Force-torque sensors measure forces and torques at the robot flange. They ensure precise joining and workpiece contact.

Physical-Chemical Mechanism of Action

Force-torque sensing measures the forces and torques acting on the robot flange. These sensors determine the precise positioning and movement of the tool to make accurate contact with the workpiece.

Metallurgical Relevance & Welding Risks

If the sensing system is missing or defective, inaccurate joining operations can occur. This leads to uneven stresses in the workpiece, which can cause cracks and distortion. Moreover, faulty contact can impair weld quality.

Workshop Practice & Action Instructions

Install the force-torque sensing system correctly on the robot flange and perform regular calibrations. Ensure the sensors are clean and free from damage. Use the measurement data to optimize the joining process and monitor stresses in the workpiece.
