Equiaxed Grain Microstructure in Titanium
Microstructural state featuring uniformly dimensioned, rounded grains produced via recrystallization annealing in the alpha field, offering a balanced ratio of ductility and toughness.
You get fine spherical grain in titanium by recrystallization annealing. This forms small, round, and uniform grains that make the material tougher and more formable. When welding, you have to be careful not to put in too much heat or cool too fast, otherwise you'll destroy the structure again and the part becomes brittle. If you anneal the component again after welding and let it cool slowly, you restore the condition.
