Spherical Texture Recrystallization
The formation of an isotropic grain structure without preferred orientation following severe deformation and subsequent recrystallization annealing. It eliminates directional material weaknesses.
After welding, you want as uniform a structure as possible, but you don't get that through any crystallization on its own. For that, you do a targeted heat treatment, depending on the material, for example stress-relief annealing or normalizing. The exact temperatures and times are in the data sheet, you have to look there. If you want to form the material beforehand, you anneal it soft so it doesn't crack – but that's a different step than welding itself.
