Wrought Copper-Beryllium Alloy

A precipitation-hardenable material offering excellent electrical conductivity and high mechanical fatigue strength, used for highly stressed contact elements.

Copper beryllium is a high-strength material with good conductivity. When welding, you must be careful to avoid hot cracking and not to coarsen the structure too much, otherwise you lose strength. Heat input should be controlled and cooling not too slow to keep the grain fine. If you heat the weld too much or hold it hot too long, the material becomes soft and unusable.
