Copper-Chromium-Zirconium Thermal Conductivity

High thermal and electrical conductivity combined with good high-temperature strength through finely distributed chromium and zirconium precipitates.

CuCrZr is a precipitation-hardened copper material that conducts well and is hot-strength. When welding, the high heat dissipation is the main problem – the material cools quickly, which can lead to stresses and cracks. So you have to control the heat well and let the part cool slowly after welding. TIG is suitable for this, but you have to keep an eye on the heat input. The precipitates that give the material its strength are destroyed by the welding heat, so the part becomes softer at the weld – you have to take that into account in the design.
