Copper-manganese alloy

A specialized copper material characterized by a specific electrical resistance with a low temperature coefficient. It is preferentially used for precision resistors and measurement technology.

Copper-manganese alloys are known for their stable electrical resistance, which hardly changes over a wide temperature range. When welding, you have to be careful not to alter the structure too much, otherwise measurement accuracy suffers. Hot cracking is the main danger, so work with a clean, well-shielded process and keep heat input as low as possible. Parts must be free of grease and oxide beforehand, then you get a proper, tight weld pool.
