Copper-Nickel-Zinc Alloy

A homogeneously crystallized alloy from the Cu-Ni-Zn system characterized by high corrosion resistance and mechanical strength.

Cu-Ni-Zn is a brass with a nickel content that significantly improves corrosion resistance. When welding, you have to watch out that the zinc doesn't burn out – that happens quickly because it has a low boiling point. The result is pores and a weak, porous weld. So work quickly and keep the heat input as low as possible. A shielding gas or flux helps suppress oxidation of the copper. If you get the weld clean and tight, the corrosion resistance is maintained.
