Copper Welding Wire

A solid filler material for GMAW or TIG welding of copper and copper alloys, frequently alloyed with deoxidizing elements. This prevents the formation of copper oxides within the weld deposit.

Copper wire for welding is always alloyed, mostly with silver or zinc. These ensure that the molten copper does not absorb oxygen. Without the alloy, you oxidize the weld pool, it becomes porous and the seam has no hold. The filler keeps the pool clean and fluid, so you get a tight, load-bearing seam.
