Copper-Tin Alloy

Copper-tin alloys are metallic composites of copper and tin, often with other elements like lead or silicon. They offer good castability, low stress response, and high corrosion resistance.

Copper-tin alloys, i.e. bronzes, you don't weld like steel. They are prone to hot cracking and conduct heat extremely well. So you need proper preheating and must keep the heat under control, otherwise you won't get a clean melt. When joining parts, use matching filler material that matches the bronze composition. Make sure the weld is clean and free of contaminants, because they cause immediate problems. And let the weld cool slowly to avoid stresses and cracks.
