Short-circuit current rise rate
The rate of current change over time upon reignition after a short circuit, which directly controls spatter formation in GMAW welding.
Short circuit means: the arc collapses and the current briefly surges through the wire. If you don't control it, the weld spits spatter and the structure suffers. Make sure the short circuit runs in a controlled way – then the weld stays clean and crack-free. If it spatters heavily or crackles irregularly, something's off with the wire feed or the settings, so chase that down.
