Laser-Hybrid Orbital Welding

The combination of laser beam and arc welding on rotating pipe geometries, uniting high welding speeds with improved gap-bridging ability.

Laser-hybrid orbital welding combines a laser beam and an arc. The laser provides deep, narrow penetration and high speed, while the arc improves gap bridging and calms the weld pool. This process is well suited for thick-walled components when you need high weld quality and productivity.

Pay attention to the correct matching of laser focus and arc parameters. If the ratio is off, you'll get lack of fusion or spatter. Heat input is high, so you need to monitor cooling, otherwise you'll introduce stresses into the part. In practice, this means: prepare cleanly, align the torch position exactly, and test the parameters for the specific material.
