Laser Oxide Removal
A non-contact thermal cleaning process in which focused laser pulses vaporize scale and coatings. It allows highly precise, selective surface layer processing without mechanical wear.
When laser stripping oxide layers, the surface is removed with short laser pulses. The energy evaporates the scale and impurities, but the base material remains intact. You get a clean, bare surface for welding without mechanical grinding or brushing. The advantage is obvious: no wear, no mechanical stress, and you can reach hard-to-access spots. But be careful: if you go too high with power or move too slowly, you can locally overheat and distort the material. You have to adapt the parameters to the workpiece; there's no one-size-fits-all. Make sure the part is clean and stable, and wear safety glasses. Then it's a fast and clean method to prepare the weld joints.
