Laser sublimation cutting

A specialized laser cutting process in which the material vaporizes directly due to energy input without a liquid intermediate phase and is blown out with an assist gas. It is used for materials like ceramics or plastics for edge optimization.

Laser sublimation cutting is a cutting process in which the material is heated so strongly by the laser beam that it goes directly from solid to gas without melting first. The vaporized material is then blown out of the kerf with an auxiliary gas. You mainly use this for materials that should not melt, like ceramics or certain plastics, to get clean edges without melt residue. Make sure that the energy input and gas pressure are well matched, otherwise you'll burn the material or not get a clean cut.
