Laser Hot-Wire Welding
Laser hot-wire welding is a beam welding process where the wire is electrically preheated before entering the weld pool. This increases flexibility and improves weld quality.
Physical-Chemical Mechanism of Action
The filler wire is preheated by a laser beam before entering the weld pool. This raises its temperature and conductivity, which speeds up energy transfer and melting.
Metallurgical Relevance & Welding Risks
Using preheated wire gives a more even melting process and improves crack filling. However, insufficient heating of the wire can lead to uneven melting and incomplete filling.
Workshop Practice & Instructions
Make sure the laser beam reaches the set temperature. Monitor the melting process continuously and adjust the laser energy settings as needed.
