Arc Stud Welding
Process for welding studs onto metal structures, where the arc melts the entire cross-section of both joining partners.
The arc melts the metal locally so the parts fuse together. Watch the cooling: if it cools too fast, the structure gets hard and can crack. If it cools too slow, the structure gets coarse and loses toughness. Keep the weld area clean and dry, and run a steady arc with a calm hand. The right cooling time comes with experience – when in doubt, let it cool a bit slower.
