Arc Plasma Recombination Energy

Arc plasma recombination energy: Ionized gas particles and electrons in the arc column combine into neutral atoms, releasing energy that transfers to the weld pool.

Physicochemical Mechanism of Action

In the arc, ionized gas particles and electrons are created. They recombine outside the hot core zone, releasing energy.

Metallurgical Significance & Welding Risks

The released energy helps transport heat to the edges of the weld pool. Too little energy can lead to incomplete fusion, while too much can cause overheating and distortion.

Workshop Practice & Instructions

Make sure the arc length is set correctly to ensure sufficient recombination energy. Monitor the temperature and behavior of the weld pool to detect and fix any issues early.
