Locally restricted UV radiation protection curtain
A certified, flame-retardant curtain of strips that absorbs UV-A and UV-B radiation and protects the work area of arc welding.
Physicochemical Mechanism of Action
The locally limited UV protection curtain is made of a material specifically designed to absorb UV-A and UV-B radiation. This material contains chemical absorbers that take up the high-energy UV photons and convert their energy into heat.
Metallurgical Relevance & Welding Risks
UV radiation can cause serious damage to eyes and skin, including burns and long-term harm. Without adequate protection, UV rays can also affect the material structure, leading to undesirable properties such as grain coarsening or hardness changes.
Workshop Practice & Instructions
Use the curtain near the arc welding machine to create a protective radius of at least 1 meters. Make sure the curtain is clean and undamaged. Avoid placing it directly on the workpiece or weld seam, as this can cause grain coarsening. Replace or clean the curtain regularly as needed.
