Narrow Gap Metal Active Gas Welding

A specialized MAG process for thick-walled components utilizing an extremely narrow groove with parallel flanks. This drastically reduces the weld metal volume and thermal distortion.

When MAG welding with narrow gap technique, you keep the joint narrow so you have to deposit less weld metal. This noticeably reduces distortion and heat input into the part. It is important that the flanks are parallel and cleanly prepared, otherwise you won't get uniform penetration.
