Metal Active Gas Welding with Pulsed Arc
A MAG process featuring controlled, droplet-per-pulse metal transfer to eliminate spatter in all welding positions. It is preferentially applied for unalloyed and high-alloy steels.
In pulsed MAG welding, the material transfer is controlled by the pulse current, which keeps the arc stable and reduces spatter. Pulsed arc is well suited for thin sheet welding and root welding because you have better control over the heat. If you don't match the parameters properly, the weld will be uneven or you may get lack of fusion. Make sure the wire feeds cleanly and the gas shields well, otherwise you'll get porosity. Keep the torch steady and uniform, maintaining a constant distance to the weld. For thin sheets, keep the heat low to avoid burn-through. After welding, let it cool naturally, don't quench with water.
