Monocrystalline Solidification

Controlled solidification without grain boundaries utilizing seed selectors to maximize high-temperature creep resistance.

Monocrystalline solidification means: the weld pool solidifies as a single crystal instead of forming many small grains. You mainly want this for high-temperature components, because the material is then better protected against creep. But if you don't get it right, you get uneven solidification, internal stresses, and in the worst case, cracks. You have to control cooling and heat input very carefully to keep the structure homogeneous. This is not for fast welding; it requires calm, uniform work.
