Non-essential variable
A non-essential variable describes a parameter that may be altered within defined limits without requiring a new procedure qualification test. Typical examples include minor amperage adjustments within the permissible range.
Non-essential influencing variables are parameters that you can vary somewhat within the welding procedure without compromising weld quality. These are, for example, small deviations in current or voltage that remain within the specified limits. As long as you stay within these limits, you don't need to worry about the weld. Only when you go significantly above or below can it lead to poor fusion or loss of strength. So just set the values so they are in the green range, then it's fine.
