Nickel Aluminide Coating

A diffusion-based nickel-based protective coating that shields components from high-temperature oxidation and hot corrosion.

Nickel aluminide coatings are solid solutions of nickel and aluminum. When welding, you need to be careful not to melt the coating too much or put too much heat into it. Otherwise, the aluminum diffuses into the base material and the protective oxide layer gets destroyed. So keep the welding parameters rather conservative and work with a clean surface, then the coating stays stable.
