Nickel-Chromium-Cobalt Alloy
A high-temperature alloy for applications under extreme thermal and mechanical stress in turbine manufacturing. It is characterized by resistance to carburization and oxidation.
Nickel-chromium-cobalt alloys are high-temperature resistant materials that you weld with a suitable filler metal. The alloy is sensitive to overheating and incorrect heat control, which can cause the structure to flip and the strength to go down the drain. Keep the interpass temperature low and work with a tight arc to keep heat input small. After welding, the part should cool slowly, otherwise you'll get cracks or embrittlement. Cleanliness is the be-all and end-all; any contamination leads to carburization or oxidation at the weld.
