Nickel-Iron Soft Magnetic Core
A high-permeability Ni-Fe-based alloy with minimized core losses for electrical engineering applications.
Nickel-iron soft magnetic cores are sensitive when it comes to heat. When welding, you must make sure the structure doesn't coarsen, otherwise the magnetizability suffers. Rapid cooling makes the material hard and increases core losses; slow cooling is a must. So keep heat input low and let the weld cool in a controlled way to avoid distortion and stress buildup.
