Nickel-Cobalt High-Temperature Matrix
A thermally stable Ni-Co-based matrix serving as a ductile carrier for oxide-dispersion-strengthened phases.
Nickel-cobalt alloys are high-temperature resistant materials that get their strength from finely dispersed precipitates. When welding, you must not destroy the microstructure, otherwise you lose the high-temperature strength. The main danger is that improper heat input causes the precipitates to coarsen or unwanted phases to form. Keep heat input as low as possible and don't let the part get unnecessarily hot. Weld with a process that focuses the heat well and protect the molten pool from the atmosphere. After welding, the component should cool in a controlled manner so that the microstructure can re-form properly.
