Nickel-Cobalt High-Temperature Alloy

Solid solution and precipitation-hardened material based on a Ni-Co matrix that withstands extreme thermal and mechanical cyclic loads in aerospace. It is characterized by high phase stability.

Nickel-cobalt high-temperature alloys are high-strength materials, but they are tricky when welding. The main issue is heat input: if it gets too hot or you cool down too fast, the structure flips and you lose the mechanical properties. So you have to keep the heat strictly under control and ensure even, slow cooling. Best to weld with shielding gas, and the weld should be clean and free of contaminants, otherwise cracks will occur.
