Nickel-Cobalt Matrix Strengthening
Combination of nickel and cobalt as base elements in high-performance alloys to ensure thermal stability of the crystal structure under cyclic mechanical loads.
Nickel-cobalt matrix hardening means nothing other than that you have an alloy that remains heat-resistant and doesn't collapse as quickly under load. When welding, you have to be careful not to introduce too much heat and not to cool the part too quickly afterwards. If you mess that up, you'll get cracks or the structure will become uneven, and the weld won't withstand the load anymore. So: preheat cleanly, burn off in a controlled manner, and let the component cool slowly, then the matrix stays stable.
