Nickel-base welding consumable

Nickel-base welding filler is a highly developed filler material used for welding heat-resistant steels and nickel-base alloys. It offers high crack resistance at extreme temperatures.

Physicochemical Mechanism of Action

Nickel-based filler metals contain a lot of nickel, which makes for a stable weld pool and gets along well with different metals. They also contain zinc and silicon, which bind oxygen and prevent porosity.

Metallurgical Relevance & Welding Risks

These fillers improve the strength and compatibility of the weld zones at extreme temperatures. Wrong selection or application can lead to oxygen contamination, pore formation and reduced mechanical properties.

Workshop Practice & Instructions

Use nickel-based filler metals when welding steels with high carbon content or when joining different metal types. Pay attention to correct temperature control and proper cooling to avoid porosity and ensure maximum crack resistance.
