Nickel-Base Superalloy

High-temperature nickel-based material class featuring an fcc gamma-prime precipitate microstructure, ensuring superior creep rupture strength and oxidation resistance at extreme service temperatures.

Nickel-based superalloys are high-temperature resistant materials that owe their strength mainly to a special microstructure. When welding, you have to make sure this structure doesn't get damaged. Cooling after welding is the critical point: cooling too fast makes the material hard and prone to cracking, cooling too slowly can lead to distortion. You best weld the parts with the TIG process and inert shielding gas so nothing oxidizes. After welding, cooling should be controlled and uniform, then the structure stays stable.
