Furnace Brazing Profile

The furnace brazing profile defines the time-temperature progression within the various zones of a continuous or batch furnace system. It controls heating rate, holding time, and cooling speed to prevent thermal stresses.

The furnace brazing profile specifies how you control temperature over time – how fast you heat up, how long you hold, and how you cool down. This controls how the microstructure develops and whether the part holds up cleanly afterwards. If you heat up too fast, you get stresses in the material, which can cause cracks or distortion. If you cool too slowly, the grain becomes coarse and the material loses toughness. Stick to the profile specified for the material. Times and rates depend on the material – if in doubt, check the manufacturer's specification, they know exactly.
