Orbital TIG Welding with Pulsed Arc
A mechanized pipe welding process where the arc is controlled via current modulation, enabling precise penetration control in out-of-position welds.
Pulse current controls the arc by periodically ramping the current up and down. This gives you a stable arc that controls the weld pool well and reduces heat input into the workpiece. This is especially beneficial for thin sheets or root welding because you get less distortion and a cleaner weld appearance. If you don't properly match the pulse frequency and current, the weld bead becomes irregular and you risk lack of fusion. Make sure the arc is always directed at the leading edge of the weld pool and adjust the parameters to the material thickness and welding position.
