Weaving Motion

A side-to-side oscillation of the welding torch perpendicular to the travel direction. It enhances side-wall fusion and fills wider joints evenly.

When weaving, guide the torch evenly over the weld so the shielding gas wets the edges cleanly and the melt stays calm. If you weave too little, you get a narrow, poorly fused weld with pores. If you weave too wide or too fast, the shielding gas breaks off and the weld oxidizes. Move smoothly and evenly, then the weld will be tight and clean.
