Weave Bead

A weld bead deposited while oscillating the torch or electrode transversely relative to the direction of progress.

When weaving, you move the electrode evenly back and forth so the heat spreads better across the weld and the melt fuses cleanly. Don't do it too fast or too slow, but in a calm, steady rhythm that matches the weld width. If you weave too wide or linger too long at the edges, you risk the weld sagging or getting side burn-through. Keep the arc always in the weld pool and don't let the electrode break off, then the weld will be clean and crack-free.
