Plasma-chemical surface treatment

Plasma-chemical surface treatment modifies the surface layers of metals through ionized gas particles under vacuum or low pressure. It cleans and functionalizes the surface before coating.

Physicochemical Mechanism of Action

Plasma chemical surface treatment uses ionized gas particles that react on the metal surface. These particles can trigger chemical reactions and clean or modify the surface.

Metallurgical Relevance & Welding Risks

This treatment improves adhesion properties for coatings and reduces corrosion. However, incorrect parameters can lead to incomplete cleaning or surface damage, affecting the weld result.

Shop Practice & Instructions

Make sure the treatment is carried out under the correct pressure and temperature conditions. Check cleaning effectiveness regularly and adjust parameters accordingly.
