Plasma Cutting Torch

A thermal tool that generates a constricted arc through the focus of an electrically conductive gas to separate conductive materials via melting and ejection.

Plasma cutting is basically an arc forced through a narrow nozzle. This heats the gas so much that it turns into plasma and melts and blows away the metal cleanly. You need a clean gas supply and must keep the distance from the torch to the workpiece constant. If you move too fast, the cut breaks; too slow gives a wide kerf and lots of slag. And remember: the arc is bright and hot, so always work with a dark welding helmet and gloves.
