Plasma Arc Welding

A thermal advancement of TIG welding where the shielding gas is additionally thermally ionized and constricted through a nozzle to achieve highly directional plasma jet energy.

Plasma welding is a process where you force an arc through a narrow nozzle, creating a very hot, focused plasma jet. This lets you reach difficult spots and keeps the heat-affected zone narrow, minimizing distortion. But you have to be meticulous about clean material and a constant, dry shielding gas supply, otherwise you'll get porosity or lack of fusion. The equipment is sensitive, so set the distance and gas flow exactly per the manufacturer's specs and check the settings regularly.
