Plasma temperature
The extremely high kinetic and thermal energy of dissociated and ionized gas particles within the core of the electric arc.
The arc reaches a very high temperature depending on gas and current, melting the material locally. If you weld too hot or too fast, the weld cools too quickly and becomes hard and crack-prone. Watch the weld pool: it should flow calmly and wet well—then the setting is right. Control the heat via current and travel speed, not gas flow.
