Pressure Welding

A process for joining metals where the connection is generated by the simultaneous action of thermal energy and mechanical pressure. Oxides at the interfaces are broken up and an intimate atomic lattice bond is created.

Press welding means: The parts are first heated and then pressed together with considerable force. The pressure breaks up the oxide layer on the surface, allowing the bare metal surfaces to come into contact and weld together.
