Process gas pressure regulation

The dynamic monitoring and adjustment of gas pressure during thermal cutting to prevent flow separation within the kerf. Constant pressures prevent local residues and uneven cut flanks.

The gas pressure must remain constant during thermal cutting, otherwise you'll get an uneven cut edge. A properly adjusted pressure regulator prevents the flame or jet from breaking off and slag sticking to the joint. Set the pressure to match your gas and nozzle, and check the regulator regularly for leaks. If the pressure fluctuates, it's often due to a worn diaphragm or a leaking line – replace the parts before cutting.
