Process gas pressure

The pressure at which the auxiliary or cutting gas is forced through the nozzle. It is critical for the efficient ejection of molten particles from the kerf.

The process gas pressure controls how much gas flows through the nozzle. If it's too low, you won't get a clean melt and the weld will be no good. If it's too high, you'll stir up the weld pool or it'll spatter.

Set the pressure to match the gas type and material, not just by guesswork. Check the gas cylinder and the flow meter; there's usually a guideline value for the process on it. If the weld looks clean and has no pores, the pressure is fine.
