Testing Sensitivity

Test sensitivity is the measure of how well a test system detects smallest defects. It depends on the physical parameters used and the equipment.

Physikalisch-chemischer Wirkmechanismus

The detection sensitivity of a system refers to its ability to detect the smallest possible defects or discontinuities. This depends on the physical properties used, such as voltage, frequency, or temperature, as well as the quality and accuracy of the test equipment.

Metallurgical Relevance & Welding Risks

High detection sensitivity is crucial to ensure that no hidden cracks or material defects exist in the weld. If sensitivity is too low, dangerous flaws can be missed, leading to later failures and risks in service.

Werkstattpraxis & Handlungsanweisungen

To optimize detection sensitivity, choose test systems with high resolution and accuracy. Make sure all parameters are set correctly and the equipment is calibrated regularly. If needed, you can increase sensitivity by adjusting test conditions.
