Penetrant Residue
Test material residue is the residual material left after a test and may be reusable.
Physical-Chemical Mechanism of Action
After testing workpieces or components, a portion of the testing agent often remains. This residue can cause chemical reactions or affect functionality.
Metallurgical Relevance & Welding Risks
Insufficient removal of testing agent residues can lead to incorrect results, as the residue may not be fully removed. This can cause safety issues or component malfunctions.
Shop Practice & Action Guidelines
Make sure all testing agent residues are completely removed before further processing the workpiece. Use suitable solvents for cleaning and thoroughly check the residue. If necessary, do an extra cleaning pass.
