Pulsed Micro Plasma Welding
Pulsed micro-plasma welding uses a focused plasma beam with pulse modulation to melt thin sheets and fine structures. The precise heat control prevents burn-through defects.
Physical-Chemical Mechanism of Action
Pulsed micro-plasma welding uses a strongly focused plasma jet that operates through pulse modulation. This allows very precise control of heat input into the weld zone. The plasma heats the material quickly and concentrates the energy on a small area, leading to rapid melting.
Metallurgical Relevance & Welding Risks
The precise heat control prevents burn-through defects and thermal distortion in extremely thin sheets and fine structures. However, incorrect pulse frequency or amplitude can lead to inconsistent weld quality. It is also important that the material is well prepared to ensure homogeneous melting.
Shop Practice & Instructions
Use a pulsed micro-plasma welding machine with a focused plasma source. Adjust the pulse frequency and amplitude to get a homogeneous melt. Align the heat source precisely on the weld spot. Make sure the material is pretreated to ensure an even melt. For thin sheets and fine structures, use a low heat source and high pulse frequency.
