Pulsed TIG Welding
A TIG process utilizing temporally modulated welding current to enable precise control over heat input and optimized grain refinement in the weld metal.
Pulsed TIG is basically normal TIG welding, except the current comes in fast pulses. This gives you a stable arc with less heat input into the workpiece. The advantage: you can weld thin sheets and heat-sensitive materials without the material burning through or warping. Think of it like this: the base current keeps the arc alive, the pulse current melts the material. That gives you a uniform, clean weld with less distortion. Especially with aluminum and stainless steel, that's worth its weight in gold. The key is to adjust the pulse frequency to your travel speed – too fast and the weld gets rough, too slow and you burn the material. A clean weld pool and a calm arc are the goal, then it's all good.
